SME (Japan) sponsored a sustainability seminar “Save Coral!” by the Coral Study Group of Tamagawa Academy on January 20, 2023

We invited the Coral Study Group of Tamagawa Academy (K-12) to the SME Rokubancho Building to hold a sustainability seminar titled “Save Coral!”
As extracurricular activities, the group is engaged in initiatives to save coral, whose existence is endangered primarily by global warming. Its members study the biology of coral and take actions to preserve coral reefs; they grow coral at school that originates from around Iejima Island in Okinawa Prefecture and then return it to its home.
After introducing their activities on stage, they raised the alarm over environmental issues and enthusiastically suggested simple ways we can use to save the planet.
The seminar was attended not only by employees who gathered at the venue but also by those who work from home via live streaming. In the Q&A session, they showered the young presenters with many questions, showing their renewed interest.

Comment from the organizer
Their lecture got our employees thinking and learning a lot about environmental issues. We will continue to help promote the Coral Study Group and its activities.
